Squander them wisely. You will spend them somehow. Please have fun while you do it.

Repeal the bill of Rights
When you describe freedoms, you limit them. People who are free to worship as they please aren't as free as people who are just free. What if I don't want to worship at all? The second amendment gives states the right to form to a well organized militia. Didn't the Civil War repeal that?

I'm not Michael Jordan
I'm not Smush Parker. I'm not a guy that got cut from his High School team. And yet, I play basketball and have fun doing it. I'm also not Jesus Christ but that's a topic for another day.

What I can't imagine
I can't imagine a universe created by a divine being that doesn't have the ability and/or sense to cover its tracks. If I created a universe (and technically, I do, now and then) I'd want it to be a secret so the denizens of that universe didn't waste a lot of time thanking me for literally everything instead of doing whatever it is, I wanted them to do. I'm proud of myself for getting through this post without the "G" word.

The Gunshine State
I like a good stand your ground law as much as the next guy. I don't defy "standing your ground" as following somebody around with a gun after the police tell you not to. That seems more like stalking. Not the creepy stalking like papparazzi or ex-girlfriend watching. This is the creepier stalking like hunting. Florida should take a look at how their law got somebody killed.

If you listen closely enough, you can hear nothing. It is why we must have constant noise. Nothing is terrifying. Music, friends, even our own inner voices can stave off the emptiness but it is always there waiting.

An Open Apology to the Future
Hey, sorry I wasn't paying enough attention. It looks like we're growing the population, resource usage, pollution, and global warming at an unsustainable rate. TED talks seem so full of hope that I can talk myself out of taking action. Good luck with everything.

I'm not talking about spending as much as you take in. I mean to mitigate pork barrel politics by giving each state a fair share of the federal pie and then letting them spend it how they like. Dove legislators oppose defense spending and military bases except in their home states. Let them oppose all defense spending. Luddites oppose science projects except in their states. Phooey. The problem is figuring out a formula for spending. Dividing the cost by land mass gives a huge chunk of money to Alaska. Dividing by population would leave too little for the big states. In the end, the division would be decided in a complex formula that institutionalizes the pork barrel. Sigh.
